Benefits And Safety Requirements For Implementing A Human Robot Collaboration - Elena G. Dominguez, PE, CMSE - Pilz
Human-robot collaboration is one of the newest trends in the robotics industry. Done correctly, this practice has proven viable and very successful. Whenever robots and humans share a common workplace, safety is vital. This is especially true with the new breed of collaborative cage-free robots, many of which are designed to operate shoulder-to-shoulder with their human counterparts. This conference will familiarize attendees with the regulations and standards applicable to robotics in the United States.
Topics will include:
What's new in robotic safeguarding
- Relevant safety regulations and standards for robots and robot systems in the USA
- New safeguarding requirements
- Why a risk assessment must be performed
- Collaborative robots
3:15 - 4:15 PM
Robots in Packaging: Looking Forward - John Henry, Changeover.com
John Henry will discuss how robots are used in packaging, present his vision of how they should be used in packaging and will forecast how they will be used in packaging. His themes will cover:
- What's a robot?
- Common types of robot - strengths and weaknesses –
- 6 axis/articulated
- SCARA
- Delta
- Gantry
- Mobile robots
- Collaborative robots
- Packaging applications for robots
- The future of robots in packaging – The robot as the machine
